Horse Show Classes

Open Hackamore Open to any rider who possesses a current NRCHA membership card.

Intermediate Open Hackamore Open to any rider who is not in the Top 20 Open Riders. Must run concurrent with the Open Hackamore.

Limited Open Hackamore Open to any rider that has not won more than $15,000 in reined cow horse shows and limited age events based on lifetime earnings in reined cow horse events. To be eligible to compete in this division, contestants must have a valid Limited Open designation on their membership card.

Non Pro Hackamore Open to any rider who possesses a current NRCHA Non Pro card.

Open Two Rein Open to any rider who has not won more than $15,000 in reined cow horse shows and Limited Age Events (lifetime earnings in reined cow horse events) except Youth Cow Horse, all Non Pro Boxing and Youth Boxing classes. To be eligible to compete in this division, contestants must have a valid Horse Show Limited Open designation on their membership card.

Non Pro Two Rein Open to any Non Pro rider and to horses not shown in the bridle down the fence at any judged reined cow horse event held anytime any place, prior to January 1st of the given year. This class is open to horses of any age. These horses can be shown only one year in this class. The rider must use one hand on the reins. Any number of fingers between reins will be permitted.

Open Bridle Open to any rider who possesses a current NRCHA membership card.

Intermediate Open Bridle Open to any rider who is not in the Top 20 Open Riders. Must run concurrent with the Open Bridle.

Limited Open Bridle Open to any rider that has not won more than $15,000 LTE in reined cow horse shows and limited age events.

Non Pro Bridle Open to any rider who possesses a current NRCHA Non Pro card.

Intermediate Non Pro Bridle Open to any rider who possesses a current Non Pro card and is not in the top 25 Non Pro rider listing based on the previous three years of Earnings from all classes. To be eligible to compete in this division, contestants must have a valid Horse Show Intermediate Non Pro designation on their membership card and a current NP application on file in the NRCHA Office.

Limited (previously Novice) Non Pro Bridle Open to any rider who possesses a current Non Pro card and is not in the top 60 Non Pro rider listing based on the previous three years of total Earnings. Riders with over $100,000 in Lifetime Earnings are not eligible to fall back to the Limited Non Pro regardless of their ranking on the top Non Pro rider listing. To be eligible to compete in this division, contestants must have a valid Horse Show Limited Non Pro designation on their membership card and a current application on file in the NRCHA Office.

Non Pro Boxing Riders cannot have earned more than $750 in fence work classes at any judged classes or events with the exception of horse sales. A rider will be ineligible upon reaching the earnings threshold in any combination of officially published NRCHA earnings and/or earnings from any other association. The responsibility for eligibility lies with the competitor.

Intermediate Non Pro Boxing Open to approved Non Pro riders who have not earned more than $5,000 in lifetime earnings and who comply with all Non Pro eligibility rules, with the exception of the 2.1.10 ownership rule.

Limited Non Pro Boxing Open to approved Non Pro riders who have not earned more than $1,000 in lifetime earnings and who comply with all Non Pro eligibility rules, with the exception of the 2.1.10 ownership rule.

Youth Boxing Open to riders 18 years of age and under as of November 16th of the current show year. Riders cannot have earned more than $750 in fence work classes at any judged classes or events with the exception of horse sales. A rider will be ineligible upon reaching the earnings threshold in any combination of officially published NRCHA earnings and/or earnings from any other association. Show management may bar youth from exhibiting a stallion in youth classes. Youth Fence and Youth Limited classes may not run concurrently with any other classes.

Youth Fence Open to riders 18 years of age and under as of January 1 of the current show year. Horses are to be shown in the age appropriate equipment. Youth may not show stallions in Youth classes.
